Bio

Having had over 8 years in the graduate recruitment field, I am now responsible for putting all of this into practice with the EngineeringBecause site. I honed my sales skills at Milkround.com, a graduate job site which covers all industry sectors. I then moved to a business and careers newspaper which was distributed at the top 15 UK universities. Responsible for sales, distribution and helping with new website designs, I was more involved in helping to run the company. Now at EngineeringBecause, I am responsible for all aspects of the site, from website design through to membership acquisition.

Specialties: Sales, advertising, project management, time management, strategy, graduate recruitment, banking and finance.

The Gateway
  • The Gateway is a business and careers focused student newspaper distributed on-campus at the top 15 Universities. My role is to build upon the already strong client base and bring new clients on board so they can take advantage of our unique positioning on-campus. As well as traditional print advertising, we offer client editorial features which help clients engage and educate our audience.
  • These articles are based on interviews or events and mean clients can express the personality and culture of their firm, as well as what makes them stand out from their competitors. We work with clients to develop interesting concepts and topics that the brightest students will enjoy reading. We do all the work in researching the company/industry, conducting the interview and designing the spread.
  • The Gateway is all about enhancing the commercial awareness of students and the combination of our own content, client editorials and adverts really offers recruiters something completely different.
2006 – 2010

Business Development Manager

Milkround Online
  • I work on the new business team at the graduate recruitment website. I am responsible for selling the services of the milkround recruitment site and tools to any companies looking for a graduate to fill a role or a scheme. This involves understanding the requirements fully enough that I can make recommendations on how to build their graduate advertising campaign.
  • Throughout my time, I have hit my yearly targets as well as coached many new starters within the team. I have also been the champion of one of our websites helping to link that product team to the sales team.
